TECUM's Legal Bill Review Program resulted in savings of over $1,000,000.00 for one client in one year. While TECUM is not an advocate of reviewing legal bills without reviewing the legal files, many of our clients request this type of service.

In an effort to perform a Legal Bill Review that will not injure the relationship between law firms and carriers, TECUM has developed an alternative program.

TECUM does not simply review a bill and make arbitrary reductions.

TECUM will not guarantee reductions.

TECUM will not request a reduction unless there is an agreement with the firm on the reduction and/or a solid reason to recommend the reduction.

How our Legal Bill Review Program works:

• An experienced litigation manager will review each line of a bill.
• If there are no questions, the bill is approved and the process is over.
• If there are questions regarding the bill, a call is placed to a partner of the firm who is involved on the case to discuss each question.
• If answers are satisfactory, the bill will be approved and paid. If answers to questions regarding the bill are not satisfactory, TECUM will then discuss reasonable resolution of each issue and come to an agreement on the amount of a reduction. Once an agreement is made, the bill will be approved and paid (95% of all resolutions are agreed to by the firm).
• If a resolution cannot be agreed upon, TECUM will submit the bill to the client with a recommended reduction. The client will then determine what amount to pay. The firm's appeal process is to a company Litigation Manager. This occurs in less than 5% of disagreements.
