IMPROVE Work Process, tools and educational materials
|
TECUM, Inc. will perform an assessment to evaluate present workflow process and tools. This will include observation of workers, interviews of representative workers, and the use of discussion and brain storming techniques. If the work process is completed in a number of locations, then selected locations will be chosen with direction from Management Team. A formal meeting with the Management team as well as a report will be generated.
OUR RESULTS:
With our insights into the real causes of high costs, TECUM is able to assist our clients by providing efficient, effective recommendations, which are tailored to their specific needs. One national WC carrier's North Central Region went from being the poorest performing region out of five regions to having the best financial performance following our involvement.

Assistance in obtaining UM certification from states with application requirements
|
With input from Management Team, TECUM, Inc. will write state application to comply with Carrier's programs and state regulations.
OUR RESULTS:
We have developed approved UM programs for MA, CT, NC, FL, LA, MS, AR, OK, TN, KY, TX, and CA for WC. And for Auto Liability for NJ.

Assistance in obtaining accreditation from the American Accreditation HealthCare Commission/ URAC.

Through TECUM assistance, the largest WC carrier obtained their certification in all of their locations.

Assessment of Present Vendors

TECUM, Inc. will review with customer their requirements as well as the state regulations. TECUM, Inc. will review and validate work product, time frames, impacts and reports from vendors. A formal meeting will be coordinate with the vendors if desired by Management Staff. In addition, a written assessment report will be supplied.
OUR RESULTS:
Our clients maximize control of their medical costs by using their vendors appropriately to obtain effective efficient results. Through the development of monthly reports which tract the true impact of national Peer Review Vendors, TECUM was able to change referral patterns thus insuring that only appropriate referral were sent to the Peer Review Vendor. This resulted in $.5 million in savings a year.

Our success includes developing a Managed Care Program for a large national WC carrier, which resulted in savings of over $2 Million a month.
Another vendor's program went from operating in the "red" to a having a profit margin of 25%.

As result of our designed QA programs, URAC certification and state applications have been approved. These certifications verified that the Managed Care Programs as having strong quality processes.

TECUM, Inc. will obtain input from Management Team and design drafts of Educational Materials such as Pamphlets and informational cards for Management's approval.
OUR RESULTS:
TECUM has designed educational pamphlets and ID cards for injured workers as well educational information for providers and facilities in 11 states for a national carrier.

TECUM, Inc. will work with Management Staff as well as Telephone Consultant to design phone messages, call paths, disaster recovery plans and daily phone reports.
OUR RESULTS:
Working with our clients in the analyzing efficiencies, developing and implementing new call flows for one major vendor in Chicago resulted improvement of its customer service level from 50% to 90%.

TECUM, Inc. believes that if you don't measure it you can not effectively manage it. Based on this philosophy, TECUM, Inc. will assist in designing reports that ensure that data is correct and the tools and workflow process adds value that can be measured.
OUR RESULTS:
We have designed Operation Reports that compare different Regional sites. We have developed reports to show Savings Reports for individual states as well customer's specific reports.
