How does LPM work?
The system is utilized by defense counsel for supplying lawsuit information and billing.
All data is entered by the law firm via the internet. Insurance company and/or client
designees (as few or as many as desired) have full access to all information which is
stored on a dedicated, completely secure server. The LPM process includes:
- Segmenting Lawsuits Into Parts and Sub Parts - These are referred to as work products.
No Coding Process.
- Establishing a Budget - Fees and expenses for each whole case and work product are
forecasted.
- Planning - Work products are established with core information, such as necessity,
priority and scheduled and actual dates of completion for each.
- Billing - The firm creates and submits bills right on the LPM system by attaching each
time entry and service description to the appropriate part.
- Tracking - LPM automatically tracks staff, case progress, time, billed and incurred hours,
fees and expenses for each product, each activity, each whole case and groups of cases.
- Working Together - Company litigation supervisors and their attorneys work together over
the internet to monitor case progress and billing, assisted by distinct blueprints created
by LPM.
What special equipment is needed?
Companies and their designated counsel, will not be required to purchase or utilize any
specialized computer equipment or hardware. LPM functions at acceptable levels on any
type of computer that has internet connection capabilities regardless of connection source
or provider (i.e. modems, isp, Ti or greater, ISDN, cable, DSL, etc.). Obviously, the better
and more advanced the connection source and computer, the better the LPM system's speed
will be. It is strongly recommended that Internet Explorer, 4.0 or higher, or Netscape 4.0,
or higher, be used as the browser.
How long does training take?
Although LPM is a highly sophisticated internet database program, it has been carefully
designed for ease of use. Anyone with a claims or legal background can effectively use
the system without any training at all. But for maximum efficiency, and to take advantage
of the wide range of tools provided by LPM, training for the entire system can be
accomplished in as little as a half a day!
